Lakshmis NTR box office collection RGVs film beats Super Deluxe Lucifer and

first_imgLakshmi’s NTRTwitterRam Gopal Varma aka RGV’s Lakshmi’s NTR started on a good note and made a decent collection at the box office in the premiere shows. It has beaten Suryakantam, Lucifer and Super Deluxe.Ram Gopal Varma’s track records show that he has a very little fan base in the US, but the controversial subject of late legendary actor NT Rama Rao, who had good followership there, had created a lot of hype and curiosity about Lakshmi’s NTR. But the trade pundits were a bit sceptic about its prospects at the box office, as it clashed with new Indian releases Super Deluxe, Suryakantam, Lucifer and Airaa.Weekend Cinema US, which bagged its overseas theatrical rights, announced to premiere the uncensored version of Lakshmi’s NTR in 125 screens in the US on March 28. It tweeted, “#LakshmIsNTR is going to be our biggest release in USA . Theatre list will be out very soon. Grand Usa premieres on 28th March. Uncut & uncensored Version for USA & Canada . No Beeps, No cuts only Action.”This announcement coupled with the hype boosted its advance booking. But then came in a piece of shocking news that High court has stalled its release. However, Weekend Cinema US tweeted, “#LakshmisNTR will be released exactly as per schedule in USA . & all the other countries. Content is already delivered to all the locations! Also enabled in Moviepass in many locations!! Book your tickets now.”Lakshmi’s NTR has received a brilliant opening and collected $84,578 at the US box office in the premiere shows. This number is likely to cross $100,000 when the final figures are revealed. The controversial biopic of NT Rama Rao has become the biggest opener for Ram Gopal Varma in the country. Stay alert against terror activities PM

first_imgPrime minister Sheikh Hasina speaks in parliament strongly condemning the Sri Lanka terror attacks, before her question-answer session in the House on Wednesday. Photo: PIDPrime minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday urged all to remain vigilant and instantly inform law enforcement agencies of any suspicious terror and militant activity in their respective localities, reports UNB.”I would like to urge the people of the country to remain alert and inform the law enforcement agencies instantly if there’s any abnormal activity,” she said in parliament strongly condemning the Sri Lanka terror attacks, before her question-answer session in the House. The prime minister also called upon people to refrain from such terror and militant activities. “I’ve no word to condemn such terror and militant attacks,” she said, adding that 359 people have so far been killed in the recent series of bomb blasts in Sri Lanka.Sheikh Hasina said some 40 children, including Zayan Chowdhury, a grandson of Awami League presidium member and former health minister Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, were killed in the terror attacks.”I don’t know what they (terrorists) want to achieve through killing innocent people like this. Children are innocent. So, why do they lose their lives?” she said, adding that terrorism and militancy can never bring welfare for the mankind.Noting that Feni madrasa girl Nusrat Jahan Rafi fell victim to manmade terrorism, the prime minister said such brutal activities are very harmful to human beings. She said Islam is a religion of peace, but some people humiliate the religion to the whole mankind carrying out militant activities in the name of Islam. She prayed for salvation of the departed soul of Zayan and others who were killed in the brutal attacks carried out on Easter Sunday. In one of the attacks, Zayan’s father Moshiul Haque Chowdhury Prince (Selim’s son in-law) was also injured severely and he is now undergoing treatment at a Sri Lankan hospital.Prince was not informed of his son’s death yet, said Sheikh Hasina.last_img read more

Stranger Things Star Noah Schnapp Joins Neil Gaiman VR Adaptation Wolves in

first_img Popular on Variety Noah Schnapp of “Stranger Things” fame has joined the voice cast of “Wolves in the Walls,” an animated VR series based on Neil Gaiman’s children’s book by the same title. Schnapp will be voicing the brother of Lucy, the main character of “Wolves,” in the second chapter of the series, which is scheduled to premiere in April. “We believe that Noah Schnapp brings a special quality to the brother role,” said “Wolves” director Pete Billington. “As soon as he read his first line, we were smitten. We love him in ‘Stranger Things’ and can’t wait for audiences to hear his performance in ‘Wolves in the Walls.’” Fable, the immersive entertainment company behind “Wolves in the Walls,” shared the casting news exclusively with Variety ahead of Sundance. The company is also using the film festival to announce a new focus on what it calls virtual beings — characters that are powered by artificial intelligence and can respond to and interact with their audience. But even with that new focus on virtual beings, Fable plans to continue to work on “Wolves in the Walls,” which the company wants to release to consumers once it has finished all 3 parts, likely in 2020.This week, Saatchi, Billington and Shamash argued that virtual beings powered by artificial intelligence can ultimately make such VR stories more meaningful, even if they may exist on multiple screens. Most consumers would not watch VR movies for longer than a couple of minutes, said Saatchi. However, smart displays and phones might provide an opportunity to interact with virtual characters far more often, and for longer periods of time — which could ultimately lead to characters inviting viewers to join them in VR again. “I don’t think it cannibalizes VR at all,” he said. And some of that artificial intelligence-based interactivity may even find its way back into “Wolves in the Walls,” suggested Shamash: “‘Wolves’ will be this living, breathing thing.” CREDIT: Courtesy of Fable “We are changing the make-up of our team radically to add machine learning folks,” said Fable co-founder and executive producer Edward Saatchi.Fable’s first foray into this new area of interactive story-telling with virtual beings is called “Whispers in the Night,” which is a kind of spin-off of “Wolves in the Walls.” In the piece, viewers get to interact with Lucy, the main character of “Wolves in the Walls,” and even have conversations with her. “‘Whispers is a natural language processing project where you can talk to a character,” said Saatchi.Much like “Wolves in the Walls,” “Whispers in the Night” is also a VR experience, but Saatchi said that the company was working on quickly bringing the character to other mediums as well, including smart displays like Facebook’s Portal and Amazon’s Echo Show.Fable wants to tie those different types of screens together by making Lucy a character that is not only able to respond to her audience, but actually remember things. “With ‘Whispers,’ we are exploring this idea of memory,” said the piece’s creative director Jessica Shamash. “She doesn’t reset and forget everything,” added Billington. And by remembering things that people tell her, Lucy is going to personalize the experience for each and every viewer.last_img read more

What Advice Entrepreneurs Really Want and Dont Ignore

first_img Attend this free webinar and learn how you can maximize efficiency while getting the most critical things done right. Free Webinar | Sept 5: Tips and Tools for Making Progress Toward Important Goals Entrepreneurs have abundant energy, drive, ambition, ideas and sweat. What they lack is time. That’s why they only have time for the advice they want.At the recent Accelerate Your Business event Entrepreneur held in partnership with Microsoft in Denver, it became clear that their interests rest under just a handful of key pillars.InspirationIt’s not easy being an entrepreneur. Normal people take a job, work and collect a paycheck. Entrepreneurs work under different priorities. They have an idea, a solution to a problem, and they work tirelessly to build products and services — all without the safety net of a sure paycheck and benefits. It can be heroic work, and it has a nine-in-10 chance of abject failure. What keeps them going? The inspiration of others. Hearing that someone as successful as Alexis Ohanian could have started his professional life with so much rejection helps entrepreneurs recognize that they’re not alone in the world and that their own setbacks don’t mean that their business is doomed.Sales and customer service.Your idea doesn’t turn into a business until you get your first customer. Plenty of people have good ideas. Fewer people act on them, and even fewer actually find a market for them. Getting advice on how to land that first sale, and, more importantly, how to convert that into repeat business, is some of the most sought-after guidance for entrepreneurs.Take building customer loyalty, an area of expertise of Carol Roth, the business expert and host of the TBS business show America’s Greatest Makers. Roth told the Accelerate event crowd that entrepreneurs need to develop long-term, loyal customers. In an approach she calls “Customer Loyalty 3.0,” she said the goal is to get raving fans to tell other customers about your brand or company. When you factor in the expense of trying to reach new customers and the high lifetime value of each individual customer, loyalty needs to be a top priority for every business.Data management and security.Every company nowadays, no matter what they do, says they are a “data” company. Yes, that’s a marketing hook, but it has a grain of truth in it. Every transaction, every interaction is recorded and stored. So every company collects and can use data. Here’s the good news: It’s easier than ever to use data to improve both your business and your customer experiences. Gene Marks, president of The Marks Group, which sells sales and marketing software, says the bad news is that bad actors get more sophisticated every day at trying to steal that data — and your business is liable. That’s made security a big concern for companies of all sizes. Watch Now: Run a Better Business Using Data Webinar with Gene MarksOn the bright side, it’s never been easier to store and secure that data. Jordan Chrysafidis, vice president of U.S. OEM at Microsoft, told the crowd that new cloud services really allow for a better mobile experience for business owners. As mobile becomes less about devices and more about the overall tech experience, having secure and easy-to-use cloud services becomes more important, Chrysafidis said.Gadgets.The devices we use to do business each day are increasing in capability as they decrease in size and weight. Kirk Godkin, a device evangelist for HP, often holds up a small phone and announces that this is the PC of today. Much of device development is designed for mobility, which shouldn’t come as a surprise since the workforce today are becoming increasingly mobile and virtual. Most entrepreneurs can’t get enough of new devices. The smaller, the better, provided they can also increase productivity.Behavior.Entrepreneurs, more than other groups of business leaders, are fascinated by what makes people tick. That desire is two-fold: First, understanding what drives customer decisions helps plot a sales strategy. In this regard, there are some ways in which our minds work in predictable ways, says Jon Levy, an expert in behavior and adventure, who also spoke at the Accelerate Your Business event. In fact, you can actually change people’s decisions simply through suggestion. “But with that great power comes great responsibility,” he said. It’s a dangerous line to cross to influence someone as opposed to manipulating them, he said.As for personal behavior, entrepreneurs devour any advice on how to personally find an edge. Whether it’s how often to sleep or how much exercise to get or even what habits to follow, entrepreneurs want any advice and guidance they can get to make them work more efficiently, think better and live smarter.Networking.Entrepreneurs want to connect, with customers, with vendors and with each other. For the first time, at the end of the recent Accelerate Your Business event, we held a Networking in Minutes event, where attendees were able to spend a few minutes with each other and presenters from the conference. Think of it as speed-dating meets networking. The feedback? There was a value in being able to interact with one another. To learn more about Entrepreneur’s upcoming events, visit https://www.entrepreneur.com/events. center_img Register Now »last_img read more
